Graduation

We have been so busy lately that I have not gotten around to posting any new blogs. David finished up his spring semester in seminary and is now spending this week in Orlando for a summer class. It seems that we have hit the ground running for the summer and we won't have any breaks until September! David finished his classes on Friday, and by that afternoon we both headed to the houses of our different families for our brothers' Saturday graduations. David will have to post a blog later for his brother's graduation in Acworth, but here are some pictures from my brother's big day in Irwinton. Unfortunately David and Shalah couldn't be there, but we had a good day anyways.

Brinner!

Our family often enjoys a meal that we like to call "brinner", breakfast for dinner. If we have pancakes I cook, and if its waffles or eggs David does it. Well tonight we decided to have pancakes, so I then went to the kitchen to get brinner started. Only after a few moments of being in the kitchen, Samuel joined me. Thanks to Grandma, he loves to cook! He even walks around our house with a kitchen spoon pretending to stir food and then feed it to everyone in the room. It is adorable! Generally I sit him on our counter top and let him help with what we are doing. So tonight I let him stir the pancake mix as I cooked them. Here are a few pictures that David got with our little chef in action!

The Polls are Closed

Well the polls are closed and the verdict is in. We are having a girl! We are both very excited and nervous. Girls are so different from boys! David is so pumped; he even wore a pink shirt to the sonogram appointment. I think that he is having visions of little princess tiaras already. I on the other hand am a little more nervous. I was a spitfire growing up, and it is a miracle that my mother didn't give me away! I want to be as good as a mother to our daughter as mine was to me. Samuel isn't really sure about what is going on. He points to my belly when we ask him where the baby is. Now he likes to pull my shirt up and blow on it, and tickle it. So we say that she is laughing while her big brother tickles her. The pregnancy seems to be going well, thanks to many peoples prayers. We did have a little scare with my thyroid and some extra protein. The doctors, however, are staying on top of it all. David has even gotten to feel her kick some. Pregnancy is such a miracle, and we are so blessed to be able to experience this for a second time! Due to discretion, we decided to only put up the body shot...haha Below is an image from the sonogram.

Too Young for This Much Technology!

I was recently at the computer downloading pictures from our digital cameras to the computer, when Samuel decided to join me. He is so intrigued by the computer and all of its components...keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc. I tried showing him the pictures through a slide show, but he wanted to play instead. So I pulled up paint shop to let him play around in hopes that he would ignore the keyboard. He generally likes to run his fingers up and down the rows of keys, often causing some program to open or close. He has even learned how to turn off his grandmother's laptop! We had not been at the computer long before he saw my cell phone sitting on the desk near the mouse. It would not do to only play on the computer. He now felt the need to "talk" on the phone as well. Fortunately David was there to take some pictures. Below are a few. I am afraid to say that my son may know how to do more with technology than I do!

Easter Celebration

We were so excited that our little church decided to do an Easter Egg hunt. We had a great turn out, but even more importantly we had the opportunity to share the message of Jesus to un-churched children. David and I had a very enjoyable weekend as we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord with Samuel. Here are some pictures from the Easter egg hunt and Easter morning.

Samuel goes to the Circus

Samuel's Uncle Daniel and Aunt Jennifer (Jen Jen) took Samuel to the circus a few weekends ago. We finally were able to get some pictures up on the blog. They said that Samuel had a great time. He especially liked the animals...and the cotton candy!! He came home with a clown hat, t-shirt, and an adorable elephant cup. Enjoy the pictures below!

This seat is actually where fire wood goes. However, Uncle Daniel told Samuel that it could be his seat, so that is where Samuel wanted to sit the rest of the evening!

Finally, at the circus!

On behalf of Elephant the stuffed animal, I had to put this picture up. Samuel did a lot of pointing and a lot of clapping at all the different things going on in the arena.

This is a cute picture! They went with some friends from the area. So not only was it a great day at the circus, but Samuel got to make a new friend! It was a great idea that Samuel's aunt and uncle had to take him there. And we know that he will enjoy more times like that to come!

Creative Discovery Museum

We went to the Creative Discovery Museum today in Chattanooga, TN. We had a blast! It is an interactive museum for children to learn about art, music, excavating, science, rivers, and much more. Samuel had a great time, and so did we. Here are a few pictures of some of the different exhibits.


This is Samuel playing in the river area. There were boats and blocks that he could splash around with.


It was all we could do to get Samuel out of this little, red car with real sound affects.



This guitar was huge! We had the most fun playing in the music exhibit.

This was a recording room that was also part of the music exhibit. The first part is David and Samuel recording. The second half is what they recorded playing back. This room was really neat. Hope you enjoy the clip!



This was a dark room with a screen that could pick up your silhouette and make it very colorful and techno looking. This is a picture of David and Samuel dancing to the music that was playing.

Playing at the Park

The weather felt so good this past weekend, so we decided to take Samuel out to the playground. He loved it! Especially now that he can play around by himself without us having to carry him or put him on the toys. I have to admit, I think that we had just as good of a time as he did!


What is better than going down a slide by yourself? Having two slides so that your daddy can go down with you!!

Naps are not a time for sleeping!

This morning we heard Samuel in his room squealing and playing around during his morning nap(which are just about pointless these days!). So we decided to get him up since he had been in there for around an hour. David was supposed to get him, but instead came and got me to come look into Samuel's room. We quickly decided to get the camera just in case it was something we would want to document. The hilarious thing about this video is that we have no clue what he was doing or how long he had been like this, not to mention how still he was being! Hope you get atleast a chuckle out of this and please excuse the shakiness of the camera!

The Weather Outside is Frighful! But still we must go and check it out!

For the past few days the weather channels have been saying that we were going to get some nasty weather, a wintery mix. However, around 4:30 we got snow! David and I threw on warm clothes and ran outside into it. I must admit that snow was a lot more fun when I was little, but still it was nice to see white! Once Samuel woke up from his nap we bundled him up and went outside for a little bit. He was more hungry than anything, so the snow on the ground was not very impressive to him. However, the falling snow was fun to run in. Here are a few pictures from this evening. Hopefully we will be able to take some more tomorrow if the snow makes it through the night!





It wasn't enough for a big snowball, but there is always the possiblility of tomorrow!
